Bronson Pelletier, who plays the role of werewolf Jared in the Twilight Saga franchise, was attacked at a convention recently. It’s been reported that 4 drunk guys hit, headbutted and put him in a headlock, leaving him with a broken nose.
Pelletier was at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham for the Eternal Twilight 4 event. When he went to the restroom, he was attacked by the 4 men, who also assaulted an event organizer when he tried to get involved. It’s understood that the attackers were attending a large wedding reception that was being held at the hotel as well.
According to a source at the event, Pelletier was very mad and upset about the incident. The men were drunk and very nasty and probably didn’t even realize they were assaulting a Hollywood actor. The convention was full with teen geeks and girls dying to see their favorite stars from the movies, so nobody expected anything like this to happen.
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Police Force said that the 4 attackers scattered after the assault so a chase pursued. All of them were eventually caught, after the use of taser guns. They were arrested for suspicion of assault, but 2 of them were released without charge, while the other 2 were released on bail pending further inquiries.
However, some of the details of the incident are wrong, according to an exclusive interview with Pelletier. Radar Online has reported the star saying that 5 men followed him into the restroom, because they wanted to attack someone in the films. Two of them tried to choke him, but he pushed them away and threw them off. He also wasn’t hurt during the incident, adding that he didn’t let them get near his face, which he referred to as the moneymaker.
